Merry Christmas Christmas will be different this year for those who have lost someone very close since Christmas, 2008. We know far too many families who have lost loved ones; spouses, children, siblings and parents. Our family is one of them. This will be the first Christmas since Tina lost her sister - who passed into the next life on December 7th. Well-intentioned people will tell us that "she is in a far better place." We know she is - but that doesn't make our loss any less painful. But we have an advantage that too many people don't have. We know that, thanks to our Savior, Jesus Christ, we will see her again someday. Despite what retailers and the politically correct crowd would have you believe Christmas is (or at least it should be) the celebration of the birth of the Son of God. He was born for one purpose - to eventually bring God's children back to Him, where we will live eternally in His light and love. Tina's sister (along with her mother, father, brother, grandparents and other family members) will be waiting for her when it's our time to return home. It will be a family reunion. But the reunion we should all look forward to the most is the reunion with our Creator. It is from Him we came - and it is to him we will return. And what a reunion that will be. Merry Christmas, and God bless. Rick & Tina updated 12/24/2009 Copyright
